Finally got out to the DryValleys! A sweet helo flight out over the sea ice and to the other side. The frozen lakes there are amazingly beautiful, frozen many feet deep, crystal clear, and fractured into a kaliediscope of color and texture. The wind-carved rocks from ages ago are a bouldering paradise, but off limits due to 'impact' regulations. After opening up two camps, we had time for a short hike and a quick game of horseshoes before the helo came back for pickup. What a great day!
