After 2 1/2 weeks in NZ bumping into blown-out ice folks, I hopped a bird over to Melbourne. Yeah, so Melbourne is a real city! I've never in my life fallen in love so many times at once while merely crossing the street! The style and character of the people here far exceeds anything I've seen w/ the exception of maybe Paris. It makes for interesting all day walks for miles of city blocks, tram rides, bus rides, train rides, beach cruisers, and also just serial chillin'. Parkin' it at a nice outdoor cafe' and watching the city roll by is especially nice.
I will take a train South to the surfing mecca of Torquey and Bells Beach for a week or two, then back to Melbourne. Trying to get on a river trip in Tasmania in early April.
So far, so good, Australia is amazing!
